(Basic) Communication

Skype needs no introduction. Hit badly by procrastination, I installed skype today on Fedora 16 seamlessly (due to this post).

If my webcam does not function properly, the wait (for basic communication) will continue till its fixed.

Expectation (from stupids)

Injustice isn't uncommon and wasn't either. Also, expecting it to vanish completely would be foolish.

Injustice is done due to many factors like lack of courage, selfishness, lack of knowledge, unintelligence, etc.

Expecting justice/wisdom from stupids is stupidity.

My new technological blog

You are welcome to my technological blog.

Happy Geeta Jayanti

'Bhagvad Geeta' is the only (sacred) text whose birthday is celebrated that too, throughout the globe. More than 5000 years ago, Lord Krishna had sung the holy song of Geeta on this day.

Mixed Feeling

As I write this post, it leaves me a mixed feeling, unable to decide whether it's a momemnt of joy or sorrow. I am happy to have implemented pagination successfully but on the other hand, I am sad as I should have implemented it long ago.

Successful implementation of pagination was part of my preparation.

The preparations are still on.

At pinSTORM

Of late, I had been contemplating working at pinSTORM. Finally, I accepted the offer and joined the company on 02 April 2007 as a Web Developer.

I am happy to use technologies like PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, CSS and HTML. To add to the happiness, I have old friends like Akshay, Hardik and Pavan here. Also, I am lucky to work with a logical person, Nikhil, who leads the 'Tech team'.

Currently, I am being prepared for the future. I have been developing a 'Ticketing System', which is a web-based application. Though it is neither something revolutionary nor something great, it has been quiet involving.

I anticipate the preparation phase to get over soon and be assigned to a 'Live Project'.

Of late, I wanted to try Fedora Core 6 'Zod' (since its release) but due to procrastination, I tried installing it on the day before yesterday, i.e. Saturday. I first, tested the CD and then did the 'memtest'. All went fine only until the installation process didn't proceed after 'loading the kernel'. I was not very surprised though, as I had expected it.

Earlier too, I had installed Ubuntu 6.06 LTS successfully on an 80GB HDD successfully but it wouldn't boot as soon as I'd attach another 20GB HDD to my PC (Gyandoot). I guessed the problem to be something related with the detection of the HDDs.

Later, I discussed the problem with my friend Utkarshraj Atmaram and he suggested me a visit to http://linuxhelp.blogspot.com . I felt foolish after reading the blog as the solution suggested there had been already learned by me in the Diploma course.

Well, the problem is not yet solved as I am still, in the process of implementation.

A good start

With burning, tanned skin and an aching body, I am sitting at the computer writing this. I had beem to the 'Manori beach' yesterday with my divine brothers. I was surprised to see only two of us at the gathering point, as we had expected many more. The two of us then, headed towards the beach where we were suppposed to meet the others. The cool breeze, rising sun and the morning-freshness made the journey to beach extremely pleasant.

On the way, we could see many groups returning after the night's celebrations. On reaching the other end via a boat, we met our brothers. We then, reached the beach after passing through a village. On the way, 'Sagar Putras' (divine fishermen) joined us as soon as they came to know about the arrival of their divine brothers. Everything then became easy as who else could have been a better guide?

The first thing that we did was quite obvious - breakfast. To a brother's suggestion, we played kabaddi then, which injured many including me. While a 'Sagar Putra' went home to fetch some water fore us, we sat down and 'bhav-geet' began eventually. It was then followed by a series of cricket matches that everyone enjoyed.

The cricket matches left everyone tired and hungry too. It was around 1 p.m. then. Obviously, lunch followed. The lunch began with the 'prarthna' and ended with empty lunch-boxes. As everyone was tired but still wished to play cricket, we played 'box-cricket' then.

After a few dips into the sea, a 'Sagar Putra' asked us whether we would like to visit the 'Prarthna Mandir'. Everyone's delight was clearly visible on the faces and no words were required to respond. The 'Prarthna Mandir' was extremely simple yet beautiful. We prayed and sang a 'bhav-geet' there. To our much delight, our eyes saw the 'Matsyagandha' then. I was not able to believe that my long cherished dream had come true.

Followed by a cup of tea and an invitation to be on 'Matsyagandha' we returned home filled with enthusiasm, pride and divinity.

Isn't it a great beginning of the year?
